2018 University of Houston Graphic Design Senior Exhibition
Join the 2018 Graphic Design senior class at UHGD18*, an exhibition of work from the design program at the University of Houston. Featured projects include The Phaistos Project — Forty-Five Symbols, translating current concerns — political, economic, ecological, cultural, or social challenges — into collections of unique symbols; ENCOUNTER: Meeting Points on Buffalo Bayou — a self-guided tour of six installations expressing ideas about Buffalo Bayou’s relation to the East End and Fifth Ward communities; typefaces designed for album covers of varying musical genres; and branding concepts for Houston’s Third Ward community.
UHGD18* showcases the work and perspectives of 23 designers and honors critical thinking, process and collaboration as the core of our ability to create meaningful work.
Prior to the public opening, the seniors will host a professional preview from 4:30 – 7 pm. Members of the design community are welcome to engage one-on-one with students about their work, their experience in the UH Graphic Design program, and plans beyond graduation.
